When will you start business planning for 2026 and be ready to test your strategies?
For many years, I facilitated Strategic Leadership Advances (SLAs) for corporations during January of the new year. It bothered me that they would have only 11 months to execute!
So, when I became a Chair for Vistage Worldwide, the CEOs in my MasterMind groups started discussing strategies and setting goals by December 1. With 365 days to execute, they had a head-start. It’s one reason that Vistage member firms grow 2.2X faster, stay in business 4X longer, and have successful personal exits that can exceed 100X (see testimonial).
By starting early, we try to avoid 7 strategy traps. It also inspires creativity in choosing strategies to address the ever-changing business world. This year, we have to adapt to 5 forces:
- A cooling economy with persistent inflationary pressure.
- A shrinking and disengaged workforce.
- An explosion of technological capability and complexity.
- The mainstreaming of artificial intelligence into every business function.
- The widening gap between companies that adapt and those that don’t.
